The Harrow Park in the nation’s capital on independence day  was the center for the the Abuja Grill Festival. A large crowd, energetic and diverse- with demographics ranging from Adults, to young teens, youths and even children, were there to enjoy the independence break.

The event started with DJ kenny and his hypeman Jasuper serving the crowd with party-ready tracks and setting the mood for an unforgettable feast of flavours. Whilst the music kept playing, food vendors began setting up as guests trudged in. Grill Vendors and confectionary makers all served up their dishes.

The Abuja Grill festival wasn’t just all about food… music was important too as Chocolate City’s Koker thrilled the crowd with his hit singles. Another standout performance came from the X3m music stars Simi and Sammy, who got the guests up on their feet When Simi got on the stage and belted out the first notes to her hit track ‘’Jamb Question’’, the large crowd cheered and revelled in the moment. Other artists that rocked the stage includes; Amuta Stone,  Cnik Ree, Lyrical Dr Smith  with choreography performances from the A.M.A studios.

The host for the event was Matilda Duncan and famed Grill Master Class wasn’t to be missed as Event co-ordinator Francis Ebie (GMG), famously known as Grill Master Grind, gave a detailed showing on the preparation of various grilled dishes infused with Jack daniels and also conducted the spicey chicken wings competition. During the event, we caught up with the Grill Master Grind himself and he had this to say; ‘’Today marks the second edition of the festival and as you can see, we kept to our promise to elevate the standards and make it world-class. I am already excited for the Lagos edition during the Easter holidays!’’.  It was indeed a great show with maximum fun and was well worth every penny.

The kids were not left out, various games such as bouncing castles, rodeo bull, train rides and mountain climbing were deployed.

The fashion? relaxed and laid back as expected for an outdoor event such as this:
