Indian culture is very much like the Nigerian culture- rich in so many ways, from their delicacies to their love for color and their fashion.
The men even dress similarly to the way our men from various tribes dress in Nigeria and their women… who doesn’t love their Saris?
Last saturday, the Indian community in Abuja gathered together to an event organised by the Indian High Commision and Indian Women and Cultural Associations, called ‘Namaste’ (meaning greetings!) to show off Indian dance and fashion from the various states in the country of India.
Nigerians represented also with both contemporary Nigerian and Indian dance as well as other presentations. A colorful night with a fashion parade to show off the different dress styles from their different Indian states.
We were also caught up in their artifacts and ornaments which they exhibited along side the red carpet.
T’was quite a colorful night!
